Softball Recap: Blue River Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

While Blue River's win against Tekamah-Herman wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. Blue River narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Tekamah-Herman 4-2. The win was nothing new for Blue River as they're now sitting on three straight.

Abby Lindsley spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on four hits and racked up 14 Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than one walk any time she's pitched this season.

At the plate, Emelia Hoeppner was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. That home run was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Danica Watts, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.

Blue River hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Tekamah-Herman struck out 14 times.

Blue River's victory bumped their record up to 11-4. As for Tekamah-Herman, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-7.

Looking ahead, Blue River will square off against North Bend Central at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The last three games the Tigers have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Tekamah-Herman, they have already played their next game, an 8-4 loss against Logan View/Scribner-Snyder on the 9th.
