Basketball Recap: Nimitz Comes Up Short

The Nimitz Cougars lost 51-31 to the Deer Park Deer on Saturday.

Alayia Hutchinson was Nimitz's leading scorer, having posted ten points.

Alyssa Harms was nothing short of spectacular for Deer Park: she went 6-for-11 from beyond the arc on her way to 23 points and three steals. Those 23 points gave Harms a new career-high. Shelby Tortorici was another key player, putting up 13 points.

Nimitz's loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Coming up, Nimitz will be playing at home against College Park at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Deer Park, they are taking a road trip to challenge Barbers Hill at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
