Vanguard is 9-1 against North Marion since September of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Knights will square off against the Colts at 7:00 p.m. Vanguard will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.

If Vanguard beats North Marion with 20 points on Friday, it's going to be the squad's new lucky number: they've won their past two contests with that exact score. The Knights took down Lecanto 20-3 on Friday. Given the Knights' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida football rankings (they are ranked 68th, while the Panthers are ranked 211th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, North Marion was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Friday as they fell 24-19 to South Sumter. The Colts have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

North Marion's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Vanguard, their win bumped their record up to 5-1.

Everything came up roses for Vanguard against North Marion in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, as the team secured a 41-12 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Knights since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
