Baseball Recap: Bryan County Comes Up Short

Bryan County suffered their closest loss since March 8, 2024 on Friday. They fell just short of the McIntosh County Academy Buccaneers by a score of 7-5. The Redskins were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Buccaneers earlier this season, when they won 6-1.

Bryan County saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Krish Patel, who scored a run while going 2-for-4. Those two hits gave Patel a new career-high.

This is the second loss in a row for Bryan County and nudges their season record down to 12-9. Even worse, they were so close so many times: the defeats came by an average of only 1.5 runs. As for McIntosh County Academy, they moved to 5-13 with that win, which also ended their seven-game losing streak.

Coming up, Bryan County is taking a road trip to square off against Metter at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for McIntosh County Academy, they will look to defend their home field on Monday against Jenkins at 5:00 p.m. Jenkins will roll in looking for their tenth straight victory, something McIntosh County Academy surely won't give up without a fight.
