Basketball Recap: South Allegheny Comes Up Short

South Allegheny lost against Shady Side Academy back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The South Allegheny Gladiators were outmatched by the Shady Side Academy Bulldogs and fell 69-16. While losing is never fun, the Gladiators can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 626th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 23rd).

This is the second loss in a row for South Allegheny and nudges their season record down to 2-10. As for Shady Side Academy, the win keeps them at an undefeated 16-0.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. South Allegheny will face off against East Allegheny at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Shady Side Academy has already played their next game (against Steel Valley), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
