Softball Recap: Mount St. Mary Starts Season with Defeat at Home

Mount St. Mary unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They fell just short of the Bishop McGuinness Fighting Irish by a score of 10-8 on Monday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Rockets of the 11-9 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2024.

Bishop McGuinness pushed their record up to 3-3 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mount St. Mary will host Cache at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Bishop McGuinness, they will challenge Weatherford at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
