Softball Recap: Alva Extends Winning Streak to Three

Alva owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Oktaha Tigers with a sharp 6-0 win. Fans of the Goldbugs have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 6+ runs.

Alva's victory was truly a team effort as seven different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Trinity Stevens, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI. Myka Louthan was another, getting on base in two of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run.

The win was the third in a row for Alva, bringing their record up to 3-0. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.3 runs on average this season. As for Oktaha, their loss dropped their record down to 3-1.

Coming up, Alva will welcome Mannford at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Oktaha, they will take on Kansas at 11:30 a.m. on Friday.
