Softball Recap: Moffat County Comes Up Short

Moffat County extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to five on Tuesday, dropping them down to 0-3. They fell 18-13 to the Battle Mountain Huskies. Even if the Bulldogs couldn't come away with the victory, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their hitters, which had struggled int the games prior.

As for Battle Mountain, they now have a winning record of 2-1. The high-scoring effort was just what they needed considering they were shut out in their previous matchup.

For Battle Mountain's part, Harper Jimenez Anders was a standout: she went 4-for-5 with five RBI, three runs, and two doubles. The team also got some help courtesy of Ellie Rella, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI.

Looking ahead, Moffat County will take on Rocky Mountain in a tournament on September 5. As for Battle Mountain, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Conifer at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
