Football Recap: Mountain View Piles Up the Points Against Higley + How To Watch

Mountain View faced Higley in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Toros really took it to the Knights for the full four quarters, racking up a 50-7 victory. The game marked the Toros' most dominant win of the season so far.

Mountain View's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Brady Goodman led the charge by rushing for 90 yards and three touchdowns. Coy Bodily was another key rusher, rushing for 84 yards and a pair of scores.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Mountain View was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 251 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in November of 2024.

Mountain View's defense stepped up as well, laying out Gunner Fagrell five times. In that department, Preston Patterson was the leader with two sacks. Another thorn in Higley's side was Cannon Raban, who picked up a sack and made seven total tackles (4.0 for loss).

Mountain View now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Higley, this is the second loss in a row for them and also nudges their season record down to 3-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Mountain View will venture away from home to square off against Buena at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Toros will be up against the Colts' rather soft defense (which has allowed 34.6 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Higley, they will head out on the road to take on Saguaro at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. This will be the Knights' first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
