Soccer Recap: Ankeny Takes a Loss

Ankeny was the 1-0 winner over Ankeny Centennial when they last played one another back in May of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Hawks fell just short of the Jaguars by a score of 2-1 on Monday. While losing is never fun, Ankeny can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Iowa soccer rankings (they are ranked 42nd, while Ankeny Centennial are ranked third).

Ankeny now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Ankeny Centennial, the win keeps they at an undefeated 4-0.

Coming up, Ankeny will venture away from home to square off against Linn-Mar at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Ankeny Centennial, they have already played their next matchup, a 2-1 victory against Ankeny Christian Academy on the 14th.
