Preview: Bullard Knights vs. Clovis East Timberwolves
Bullard is 2-8 against Clovis East since December of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Bullard Knights will head out on the road to take on the Clovis East Timberwolves at 6:00 p.m. Given that both teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.
After a string of five wins, Bullard's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They lost to San Joaquin Memorial on the road by a decisive 64-50 margin.
Despite the loss, Bullard saw an underclassman step up: Sanai Herod scored 15 points along with seven steals. Herod is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in the last seven games she's played. Another player making a difference was Caris Williams, who scored nine points along with seven rebounds and four steals.
Meanwhile, Clovis East's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight defeat. They had to suffer through a rough 89-49 loss at the hands of Buchanan. Clovis East has not had much luck with Buchanan recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Bullard's loss ended a seven-game streak of away wins and brought them to 20-8. As for Clovis East, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 17-12 record this season.
Bullard came up short against Clovis East in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, falling 56-49. Can Bullard avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
