Football Game Preview: Martin County West Mavericks vs. St. James Saints

The Martin County West Mavericks will venture away from home to face off against the St. James Saints at 3:15 p.m. on Friday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Martin County West managed to slip by Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Mavericks lost 42-22 to the Thunderbirds on Friday. The Mavericks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, St. James came up short against Cleveland/Immanuel Lutheran on Friday and fell 28-15.

Martin County West's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for St. James, their loss dropped their record down to 3-2.

Everything went Martin County West's way against St. James in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, as Martin County West made off with a 34-12 victory. Will the Mavericks repeat their success, or do the Saints have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
