Basketball Game Preview: General McLane Lancers vs. Seneca Bobcats

The General McLane Lancers will wrap up 2024 with a road trip to face off against the Seneca Bobcats at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.

Seneca is hoping to do what North East couldn't last Saturday: put an end to General McLane's winning streak, which now stands at five games. General McLane took down North East 56-39. While the Lancers didn't have the best season last year (they finished 7-14), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Seneca). The stars were shining brightly for them in a 71-55 win over Eisenhower last Monday. That's two games straight that the Bobcats have won by exactly 16 points.

The victory was the fourth in a row for Seneca, bringing their record for this year to 5-1. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.5 points per game. As for General McLane, they pushed their record up to 5-1 with the win, which was their third straight at home.

General McLane couldn't quite finish off Seneca in their previous meeting back in December of 2015 and fell 45-42. Can General McLane avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
