Basketball Recap: Cowanesque Valley Comes Up Short

Cowanesque Valley lost against Troy back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Cowanesque Valley Indians had to suffer through a 55-27 loss at the hands of the Troy Trojans.

Kailyn Sterling was nothing short of spectacular for Troy: she went 8 for 10 on her way to 18 points and six steals. Those six steals gave Sterling a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Alyssa Parks, who posted eight points in addition to eight rebounds and five assists.

Cowanesque Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Troy, the win got them back to even at 1-1.

Cowanesque Valley wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 57-56 victory against Mansfield on the 18th. As for Troy, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 59-40 win against Canton on the 18th.
