Basketball Recap: Westmont Picks Up Third Straight Win on the Road

Westmont won against Aptos last Saturday with 41 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Saturday. The Westmont Warriors walked away with a 41-31 win over the Pioneer Mustangs. While the Warriors didn't have the best season last year (they finished 11-14), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Westmont pushed their record up to 7-4 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 21.7 points per game. As for Pioneer, their loss ended a seven-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 6-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Westmont will face off against Cristo Rey San Jose Jesuit at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Westmont's defense has only allowed 30 points per game this season, so Cristo Rey San Jose Jesuit's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Pioneer, they are taking a road trip to square off against Prospect at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
