Preview: North Allegheny Tigers vs. Central Dauphin Rams
The North Allegheny Tigers just played last night, but they'll still head out to face the Central Dauphin Rams at 2:30 p.m. on January 21st. Both teams are coming into the game red-hot, with North Allegheny sitting on five straight victories and Central Dauphin on seven.
North Allegheny stacked a fourth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Saturday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Cumberland Valley 69-25 on the road. North Allegheny's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Meanwhile, Central Dauphin earned a 38-25 victory over Chambersburg last Friday. Given Central Dauphin's advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 40th, while Chambersburg is ranked 360th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Alexis Ferguson continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 21 points along with three steals and two blocks. She is on a roll when it comes to blocks, as she's now posted two or more in the last seven games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Lauren Cavoli, who scored seven points along with four steals.
North Allegheny pushed their record up to 11-1 with that victory, which was their sixth straight on the road. Central Dauphin's record now sits at 12-1.
