Basketball Recap: Academia Avance Comes Up Short

Academia Avance was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 18th straight defeat dating back to last season. They had to suffer through a 49-20 loss at the hands of the Alliance Bloomfield Bulls. One positive for the Guerreros Jaguares, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

Academia Avance lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Hailey Bolanos, who posted six points and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Yeraldin Colin, who earned two points.

Even though they lost, Academia Avance smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've managed all season.

Academia Avance's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Alliance Bloomfield, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season.

Academia Avance will head out to take on CALS Early College at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Alliance Bloomfield, they will welcome Collins Family at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday.
