Football Game Preview: Overfelt Royals vs. Piedmont Hills Pirates

Overfelt is preparing for their first league matchup of the season on Friday. They will look to defend their home field against the Piedmont Hills Pirates at 7:15 p.m. Overfelt's defense has only allowed 14.4 points per game this season, so Piedmont Hills' offense will have their work cut out for them.

On Friday, Overfelt came up short against Willow Glen and fell 17-6. The Royals have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Overfelt didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Ricky Bermudez, Eric Plascencia, and Junior Medina picked up one apiece.

Meanwhile, Piedmont Hills also suffered a loss in their last game, falling to Ann Sobrato by a score of 40-30. While the Pirates didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Bulldogs 14-7 in the first quarter.

Overfelt now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Piedmont Hills, they now also have a losing record of 2-3.

Overfelt suffered a grim 48-22 defeat to Piedmont Hills in their previous matchup back in October of 2024. That matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Royals were down 27-6.
