Recap: Oakdale Mustangs vs. Sierra Timberwolves
The Oakdale Mustangs had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They took down Sierra 42-25 on Thursday. For Oakdale, this counts as revenge for the 47-28 defeat Sierra walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February of 2023.
Despite the defeat, Sierra saw an underclassman step up: Mya Everett scored six points along with six rebounds. Everett is on a roll when it comes to blocks, as she's now posted two or more in the last four games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Janessa Barnes, who scored two points along with three steals and three blocks.
Oakdale's win bumped their record up to 7-12. As for Sierra, they bumped their record down to 11-9 with that defeat, which was their third straight on the road.
Oakdale will face off against Central Catholic at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Sierra, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Manteca at 7:00 p.m. Manteca will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.
