Football Recap: Mulberry Piles Up the Points Against Desoto County

After low-scoring totals in their previous five game, Mulberry brought some dynamite into their most recent matchup. They blew past the DeSoto County Bulldogs, posting a 36-0 win. The Panthers not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since November 7, 2024 (when they won 54-0).

On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Mulberry's defense and their five sacks. Jayden Johnson was especially locked on to DeSoto County's QB and sacked him four times. With that strong performance, Johnson is now averaging an impressive 6.5 total tackles per game. Gabriel Romero was another major factor on D, picking up a sack and making 11 total tackles (4.0 for loss).

Mulberry moved to 3-4 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for DeSoto County, they are on a 13-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-7.

Mulberry wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 44-12 defeat against Frostproof on the 17th. As for DeSoto County, they have also already played their next matchup, a 42-0 loss against Lake Placid on the 17th.
