Football Game Preview: South Dade Buccaneers vs. Southridge Spartans + Official Tickets

The South Dade Buccaneers will head out to square off against the Southridge Spartans at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. South Dade will be strutting in after a win while Southridge will be coming in after a defeat.

South Dade had to skate by with only a three-point margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 23-point drubbing they dealt Coral Gables on Thursday. The Buccaneers' defense stepped up to hand the Cavaliers a 23-0 shutout. The Buccaneers haven't had any issues with the Cavaliers recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.

Meanwhile, while it was Southridge who put the first points on the board last Saturday, it was Central who put up more. The Spartans fell 34-28 to the Rockets. The Spartans were up 14-0 in the first quarter but couldn't hold on to the lead.

South Dade will need to focus on slowing down James Perrone, one of several Southridge players who made an impact when they last played. He rushed for 47 yards and two TDs, and also threw for 213 yards and one touchdown. Southridge also got a significant boost from Travis Gamble Jr, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 82 yards.

Having lost for the first time this season, Southridge fell to 8-1. As for South Dade, they now have a winning record of 5-4.

South Dade suffered a grim 33-7 defeat to Southridge in their previous meeting back in November of 2024. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Perrone, who rushed for 33 yards and a pair of scores, and also threw for 138 yards and a pair of touchdowns.
