Preview: Golden Valley Grizzlies vs. Saugus Centurions
Golden Valley is 0-10 against Saugus since January of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Golden Valley Grizzlies will head out on the road to challenge the Saugus Centurions at 5:00 p.m. Golden Valley is hoping to put an end to a six-game streak of away losses.
On Wednesday, Golden Valley didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Lakeview Charter, but they still walked away with a 49-43 win. The victory was just what Golden Valley needed coming off of a 60-16 loss in their prior matchup.
Meanwhile, Saugus unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-game winning streak on Tuesday. They took a 59-53 hit to the loss column at the hands of Hart. While losing is never fun, Saugus can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 205th, while Hart is ranked 84th).
Golden Valley's victory ended a six-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-16. As for Saugus, their loss dropped their record down to 16-9.
Golden Valley might still be hurting after the 54-33 loss they got from Saugus when the teams last played on January 2nd. Can Golden Valley avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
