Evergreen and Golden are an even 4-4-2 against one another since October of 2015, but likely not for long. The Cougars will venture away from home to square off against the Demons at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. Evergreen will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.

Evergreen took a four-goal defeat the last time they faced off against Battle Mountain, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Cougars won by a goal and slipped past the Huskies 1-0. The score was all tied up 0-0 at the break, but Evergreen were the better team in the second half.

Meanwhile, for the first time since back in August, Golden was forced to settle for a draw on Monday. Neither they nor D'Evelyn could gain the upper hand so the two teams had to settle for a 1-1 draw. The outcome might've been different if MacEwan Baker hadn't been hit with a yellow card, which no doubt limited his ability to make aggressive plays down the stretch.

Golden's goal came courtesy of Toby Bauer, which was the first he's scored this season.

With that draw, Golden's record moves to 4-2-2. As for Evergreen, their victory bumped their record up to 6-2.

Evergreen was able to grind out a solid win over Golden in their previous matchup back in September of 2024, winning 2-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cougars since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
