Baseball Recap: Thursday's Loss Ends Landmark Christian's Winning Streak

Landmark Christian easily dispatched St. Francis last Thursday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. The War Eagles fell just short of the Pace Academy Knights by a score of 5-3 on Thursday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the War Eagles of the 3-2 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Landmark Christian saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Payton Gunn, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Landmark Christian will host Wesleyan at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Pace Academy, they will look to defend their home field on Monday against Midtown at 5:55 p.m. Midtown's pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so Pace Academy's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
