Baseball Preview: Valley View Spartans vs. Monroe Hornets
Valley View hasn't had much luck against Monroe recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. The Spartans will be playing at home against the Hornets at 11:00 a.m. Valley View is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.2 runs per game this season.
Things were looking good for Valley View after they put the first run on the board on Thursday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They lost 10-4 to Archbishop Alter.
Valley View got a good showing from Carson Wiley, who didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out six over four innings pitched. Wiley has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one hit in three consecutive appearances.
