Soccer Game Preview: Metter vs. Atkinson County

The Metter Tigers will face off against the Atkinson County Rebels at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams each escaped with close wins against their previous opponents.

Metter is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 victory over Towns County. The win made it back-to-back victories for Metter.

Jonatan Elizalde was the driving force of Metter's attack as he scored both of Metter's goals, bringing his season total up to 26 goals.

Meanwhile, Atkinson County kept a clean sheet against Atlanta Classical Academy on Tuesday. They won by a goal and slipped past the Cavaliers 1-0.

Atkinson County's win bumped their record up to 16-4. As for Metter, their victory bumped their record up to 15-1.

Metter might still be hurting after the 5-1 loss they got from Atkinson County when the teams last played back in April. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Tigers were down 3-0.
