Baseball Recap: Mount Vernon Takes a Loss

After flying high against Wheeler on Thursday, Mount Vernon came back down to earth. The Mustangs came up short against the Newton Rams on Friday, falling 7-0. The contest marked the first time this year in which the Mustangs were not able to get on the board.

Mount Vernon moved to 10-10 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak. As for Newton, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 17-11.

Looking ahead, Mount Vernon will challenge Fellowship Christian at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Newton, they will take on South Gwinnett at 5:55 p.m. on Monday.
