Soccer Game Preview: Northside vs. Central

The Northside Patriots will head out to face off against the Central Lions at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty goal totals in their previous games.

While Northside didn't have the best season last year (they finished 4-11-1), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They blew past Harris County 5-2 on Tuesday. Considering the Patriots have won five matchups by more than two goals this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Central). Everything went their way against Jonesboro on Tuesday as Central made off with an 8-1 win. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 5-0.

Central hit Jonesboro with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Orlando Ruiz-Perez (6), Bardo Ortega, and Ricardo Bibian.

The victory was the fourth in a row for Northside, bringing their record for this year to 6-1. As for Central, their win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 2-6.
