American Canyon posted their closest win since December 28, 2024 on Thursday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 54-51 victory over the Sonoma Valley Dragons. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent win being a 47-39 victory two weeks ago.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead American Canyon to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jordan Woodson, who posted 12 points in addition to eight rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Zoe Sangalang, who scored nine points and seven steals.

American Canyon is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 21-7 record this season. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to assists: they averaged an imposing 12.13 assists in those games compared to only 12.13 in the others. As for Sonoma Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 16-12.

Looking ahead, American Canyon will square off against Justin-Siena at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. Justin-Siena will roll in looking for their 16th straight win, something American Canyon surely won't give up without a fight. Sonoma Valley does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
