Basketball Game Preview: Deer Valley Wolverines vs. Heritage Patriots

Deer Valley is on a five-game streak of home losses dating back to last season, Heritage a three-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck will change on Friday. The Deer Valley Wolverines will welcome the Heritage Patriots at 6:30 p.m. Deer Valley has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.

Deer Valley is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They came up short against Antioch on Tuesday, falling 62-36.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 59 points the game before, Heritage was a bit more limited in their contest on Wednesday. They were beaten by Acalanes 72-20. The match marked the Patriots' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

They got a good chunk of their points from the dynamic duo of Riley Bayot and Payton Ladrido, who each put up five points. Lily Wilright held things down on the boards with six rebounds.

Deer Valley's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Heritage, they now have a losing record at 7-8.

Deer Valley took a serious blow against Heritage when the teams last played back in January of 2024, falling 77-24. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point Deer Valley was down 44-17.
