Baseball Game Preview: Hampden Broncos vs. Bangor Rams

Hampden and Bangor are an even 5-5 against one another since May of 2021, but likely not for long. The Broncos will challenge the Rams at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Hampden is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.4 runs per game this season.

Hampden took a loss when they played away from home on Wednesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Saturday. They blew past Lewiston 14-1. The Broncos have beaten the Blue Devils the last four times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Blue Devils has come to flipping the script.

Henry Armell was a standout: he got on base in all four of his plate appearances with four runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Those four runs gave him a new career-high. Wyatt Allen was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double.

Hampden always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .594. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Meanwhile, Bangor posted their closest win since May 22, 2025 on Friday. They had just enough and edged out Mt. Blue 5-4.

Hampden's record now sits at 9-4. As for Bangor, their record is now 11-2-1.

Hampden came up short against Bangor when the teams last played on May 4th, falling 12-7. Can the Broncos avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
