Encina faced Futures in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Bulldogs narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Knights 3-2. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Encina also won the last time the pair played back in October of 2024.

They hit Futures with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Damian Torres, Sayed Soud Hashimi, and Ilyas Bahari.

The victory made it two in a row for Encina and bumps their season record up to 5-2-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored six goals over those two matchups. As for Futures, their loss dropped their record down to 3-2-1.

Coming up, Encina will head out to take on Victory Christian at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Futures, they will look to defend their home pitch on Friday against North Tahoe at 4:00 p.m.
