Basketball Recap: Palo Alto Comes Up Short

Palo Alto suffered their biggest defeat since December 18, 2024 on Tuesday. They lost 56-30 to the Mountain View Spartans. While losing is never fun, the Vikings can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 665th, while the Spartans are ranked 299th).

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Mountain View to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kamya Patwardhan, who went 5-for-8 en route to 11 points and five rebounds. The dominant performance also gave Patwardhan a new career-high in field goal percentage (63%). Alana Hernandez was another key player, putting up 15 points and three steals.

Palo Alto now has a losing record of 11-12. As for Mountain View, their victory was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 19-4.

As of now, neither Palo Alto nor Mountain View have any future games scheduled.
