Football Recap: Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop Comes Up Short

After flying high against Madelia last Thursday, Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop came back down to earth. The Thunderbirds had to suffer through a 42-14 loss at the hands of Springfield/Comfrey. While losing is never fun, the Thunderbirds can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota football rankings (they are ranked 189th, while Springfield/Comfrey are ranked 19th).

Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop's defeat dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Springfield/Comfrey, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 8-0.

As of now, neither Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop nor Springfield/Comfrey have any future games scheduled.
