It was a good run, but Newsome unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-match winning streak on Monday. They fell just short of the Sickles Gryphons by a score of 3-2. While the Wolves didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Gryphons 25-21 in the first set.
Newsome started the match hot and won the first two sets, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 21-25, 11-25, 25-20, 26-24, 16-14.
Leading Sickles to victory were Gabbi Colmenares-Salas and Ava Montagna. Colmenares-Salas had 12 digs and two aces, while Montagna had 20 assists and seven digs. Colmenares-Salas is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in each of the last three games she's played.

Looking ahead, Newsome will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Sumner at 7:30 p.m. As for Sickles, they will be taking part in a tournament against Cypress Creek at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
