Basketball Recap: Jazae Pressley Key Part of Team Effort in Rams Win

While Murrieta Mesa didn't have the best season last year (they finished 7-20), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They blew past the Patriot Warriors 51-30 on Tuesday. The Rams have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four matchups by 21 points or more this season.

Murrieta Mesa got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Jazae Pressley out in front who dropped a double-double with ten points and 13 boards. With that strong performance, Pressley is now averaging an impressive 8.3 rebounds per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Josephine Jankowski, who went 6-for-13 on her way to 15 points and three steals.

Murrieta Mesa smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 27 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've posted since back in December of 2024.

Murrieta Mesa is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-2 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.2 points over those games. As for Patriot, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-5.

Looking ahead, Murrieta Mesa will face off against Diamond Bar at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Rams will be up against the Brahmas' rather soft defense (which has allowed 54.83 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Patriot, they and Glendora will face off at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday without much rest, having both just played. The Tartans' defense has only allowed 25 points per game this season, so the Warriors' offense will have their work cut out for them.
