Softball Recap: Crestwood Picks Up Sixth Consecutive Victory

Crestwood came tearing into Tuesday's contest with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5.4 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against the Decorah-North Winneshiek Vikings by a score of 4-1. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Crestwood pushed their record up to 15-5 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Decorah-North Winneshiek, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 13-10.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Crestwood will head out to take on Waverly-Shell Rock at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Cadets 3, the Go-Hawks 3.2) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Decorah-North Winneshiek, they will head out on the road to face off against Dike-New Hartford at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Wolverines will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something the Vikings surely won't give up without a fight.
