Baseball Recap: Harvester Christian Academy Wins Going Away Against Cornerstone Prep Academy

Harvester Christian Academy's game last Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They blew past Cornerstone Prep Academy 25-5. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Hawks also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2024.

Greg Stoeckig was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Stoeckig was also big at the plate, scoring four runs and stealing five bases while getting on base in three of his six plate appearances. Those four runs gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Harvester Christian Academy got a massive performance out of Auston Young, who went a perfect 5-for-5 with three stolen bases, six RBI, and three runs. Young has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Lleyton Tsai, who scored three runs and stole three bases while getting on base in five of his six plate appearances.

Harvester Christian Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .632. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Cornerstone Prep Academy only posted an OBP of .419.

The win got Harvester Christian Academy back to even at 1-1. As for Cornerstone Prep Academy, their loss was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-1.

Looking ahead, Harvester Christian Academy will face off against Flint River Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Cornerstone Prep Academy, they will challenge Cherokee Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. This will be Cherokee Christian's first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
