Football Recap: St. James Piles Up the Points Against Martin County West

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask St. James). They blew past the Martin County West Mavericks 40-8 on Friday. The team's explosion on offense also rewarded the Saints with their most commanding win of the season.

St. James' victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-2. Those home wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 9.3 points on average over those games. As for Martin County West, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. St. James will welcome Mayer Lutheran at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Saints 13.3, the Crusaders 8) so any points scored will be well earned. As for Martin County West, they will be playing in front of their home fans against United South Central at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
