Softball Recap: Lithonia Comes Up Short

Lithonia had lost four straight on the road, but on Monday they dropped down to 3-10 to make it five. They came up short against Washington, falling 17-3. Lithonia was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Washington apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in August of 2024.

Kayla Washington made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.

As for Washington, they moved to 2-5 with that win, which also ended their four-game losing streak. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

On Washington's side, they let Londyn Scott and Zamiya Moore run wild. Scott got on base in two of her three plate appearances with four stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI, while Moore got on base in all three of her plate appearances with four stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Scott has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. Aaliyah Reynolds was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three stolen bases and two runs.

Coming up, Lithonia is taking a road trip to challenge Druid Hills at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Washington, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Holy Innocents Episcopal at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
