Basketball Recap: Adyson Weyandt's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Tussey Mountain over Conemaugh Township

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Tussey Mountain can now relate to. They took a 49-44 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Conemaugh Township Indians. The Titans have been going strong on the season, but this is now their second loss in a row.

Tussey Mountain lost on Tuesday despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Adyson Weyandt, who posted 15 points. She continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Brianna Gabrielson, who put up seven points along with seven rebounds and three blocks.

Conemaugh Township's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Mayce Kordell led the charge by putting up 15 points and three steals. Another player making a difference was Ava Byer, who dropped a double-double with 15 points and ten boards.

Tussey Mountain's defeat dropped their record down to 15-7. As for Conemaugh Township, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-10 record this season.

Tussey Mountain does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Conemaugh Township, they will head out to take on Everett at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Everett is on a five-game streak of home wins, Conemaugh Township a four-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court.
