Baseball Game Preview: Calvary Christian Knights vs. St. Anne-Pacelli Vikings

For the second straight game, Calvary Christian will face off against St. Anne-Pacelli. The Knights will look to defend their home field on Friday against the Vikings at 6:00 p.m. The last four games Calvary Christian has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Calvary Christian is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering St. Anne-Pacelli just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell just short of the Vikings by a score of 9-7. Even though they lost, the Knights' still made a splash at the plate and bumped their average scoring up to 6.1 runs per game (they're now ranked -1th in scoring overall).

For St. Anne-Pacelli's part, they got a big performance out of Levi Thompson, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most hits Thompson has posted since back in February. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaycob Veloz, who went 3-for-5 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: St. Anne-Pacelli kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are 2-1 when they post 11 or more hits.

St. Anne-Pacelli's victory bumped their record up to 12-13. As for Calvary Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-12.
