Soccer Recap: Swanton Comes Up Short

While it was all tied up 1-1 at halftime, Swanton was not quite Old Fort's equal in the second half on Saturday. They fell just short of the Stockaders by a score of 2-1. Swanton's defeat continues a trend for the squad, making it four in a row.

Their goal came courtesy of Evan Reinhard, who's now up to seven this season.

Swanton's loss dropped their record down to 5-9-3. As for Old Fort, the victory got them back to even at 7-7-3.

Coming up, Swanton will head out to square off against Eastwood at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Swanton's defense better be ready for this one: Eastwood have averaged an impressive 3.3 goals per game this season. As for Old Fort, they will look to defend their home pitch on Saturday against Crestview at 12:00 p.m. Old Fort will be up against Crestview's rather soft defense (which has allowed four goals per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
