Tokay waltzed into their match on Thursday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They put the hurt on the Weston Ranch Cougars with a sharp 53-29 win. Given the Tigers' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 451st, while the Cougars are ranked 1034th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Weston Ranch lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Ja'naysha Green, who posted nine points and four steals. Green has been hot, having posted four or more steals the last seven times she's played. Alana McGee was another key player, going 5 of 12 to rack up 11 points.

Tokay's victory bumped their record up to 19-7. As for Weston Ranch, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last ten games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-18 record this season.
