Baseball Recap: Menomonie Gets the Win

Menomonie took a six-run defeat the last time they faced off against Eau Claire Memorial, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Mustangs had just enough and edged out the Old Abes 6-4. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Mustangs.

Charlie Mikesell was incredible, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Luke Bystol, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

The win got Menomonie back to even at 12-12. As for Eau Claire Memorial, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-14 record this season.

Menomonie will have a chance to go back-to-back against Eau Claire Memorial: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
