Basketball Recap: Sotomayor Has No Trouble Against Annenberg

With a playoff win on the line, Sotomayor rose to the challenge on Friday. They took down the Annenberg Panthers 33-18.

Sotomayor found their leader in freshman Destiny Velasco, who dropped a double-double with 22 points and ten boards. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Velasco has scored all season. Ashley Castillo was another key player, putting up three points and four steals.

The win got Sotomayor back to even at 9-9. As for Annenberg, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 16-2.

Sotomayor wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 35-26 victory against Jefferson on the 24th. Annenberg does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
