Pharr-San Juan-Alamo North has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will challenge The Rio Grande City Rattlers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Pharr-San Juan-Alamo North will be strutting in after a win while Rio Grande City will be coming in after a defeat.

Pharr-San Juan-Alamo North stacked a ninth blowout onto their ever-increasing hoard on Thursday. They breezed by Juarez-Lincoln at home to the tune of 57-0. Given Pharr-San Juan-Alamo North's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 134th, while Juarez-Lincoln is ranked 1121st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Jason Montez was the offensive standout of the contest as he rushed for 33 yards and two touchdowns. Nicholas Torres made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.

Meanwhile, Rio Grande City ended up a good deal behind McAllen Memorial on Thursday and lost 24-6. Rio Grande City was down 22-0 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Pharr-San Juan-Alamo North's victory was their sixth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 9-0. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 47.3 points per game. As for Rio Grande City, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season.

Everything came up roses for Pharr-San Juan-Alamo North against Rio Grande City when the teams last played back in November of 2022 as the squad secured a 57-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Pharr-San Juan-Alamo North since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
