Basketball Game Preview: La Salle Lancers vs. La Serna Lancers

The La Salle Lancers and the La Serna Lancers will round out the year against one another at at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as La Salle comes in on nine and La Serna on four.

Last Saturday, La Salle earned a 40-28 victory over Westlake.

La Salle's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Casey Higgins, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 20 boards. Higgins is crushing it when it comes to boards: she's pulled down at least eight every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Aislin Tamez Torres, who posted nine points and seven rebounds.

Meanwhile, La Serna was able to grind out a solid victory over La Habra on Friday, taking the game 35-27. Given the Lancers' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 136th, while the Highlanders are ranked 783rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

La Serna's win bumped their record up to 10-2. As for La Salle, their victory bumped their record up to 12-1.
