Southern Boone had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Osage Indians a 15-0 shutout on Monday. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won ten contests by seven runs or more so far this season.
Southern Boone got a great performance from Brenna Young as she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over five innings pitched.
On the hitting side, Gracie Britton was incredible, firing off two home runs, four runs, and five RBI while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. Those four runs gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Brooklyn Center, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple.
Southern Boone was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. They are a perfect 10-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Southern Boone's win bumped their record up to 19-11. As for Osage, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-5.
