Sabino waltzed into their contest on Friday with seven straight wins... but they left with eight. They came out on top against the Douglas Bulldogs by a score of 80-67. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 94-69 back in December of 2024.

Diego Lopez and Ryan Felix certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Lopez posted 15 points in addition to six boards and three blocks, while Felix went 5 for 8 on his way to 13 points and three steals. Lopez's evening made it eight games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Bruno Maytorena was another key player, putting up six points.

Sabino is on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 17-4 record this season. As for Douglas, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 13-9.

Sabino will be playing at home against Andrada Polytechnic at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Sabino is facing Andrada Polytechnic at the right time seeing as Andrada Polytechnic is stuck on a 12-game losing streak. As for Douglas, they are taking a road trip to square off against Sahuarita at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Douglas knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past nine games -- so hopefully Sahuarita likes a good challenge.
